We need different approaches and solutions to live in and move through our cities more sustainably. Cycling is one key solution: a way to address the ongoing public health crisis and the unfolding climate crisis, as well as lay the foundation for streets that prioritize people. We have a unique opportunity to galvanize global momentum growing around cycling. The Institute for Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP) and a coalition of more than 50 cities and partners will mark the official launch of the Cycling Cities campaign during the UNFCCC COP26 conference in Glasgow, a member of the Cycling Cities cohort. The event will highlight cities, like Glasgow, Mexico City, Jakarta, and Rio de Janeiro, on the vanguard of rethinking their streets to expand access and well-being, and combat climate change. Join us as we commit to transform cities for cars into cities for all, and learn how you can be part of this global movement to create more Cycling Cities. | November 10, 2021 | November 11, 2021 | November 12, 2021 | November 13, 2021 |

Its Jak Lingko system has integrated BRT, rail, and microtrans, while the city has built up cycling and pedestrian infrastructure. These advances have made travel within Jakarta faster and more accessible, earning it the 2021 Sustainable Transport Award. This webinar will explore how the city went from vision to implementation, expanding multimodal travel and increasing ridership on all public transit. It will show how Jakarta has continued improving since winning the 2021 STA, toward even healthier, safer, more sustainable, and more equitable transit. We will hear from Mrs. Sri Hayati, Assistant of Economic Affairs and Finance in Jakarta’s city government, Mr. Sardjono Jhony Tjitrokusumo, Director of Transjakarta, and Mr. William Sabandar, Director of MRT Jakarta, who will all speak on Jakarta’s transport vision and progress since the city’s 2021 win. | November 18, 2021 | November 19, 2021 | November 20, 2021 |
