The government of Mauricio Macri has announced that the city’s BRT system, running on Juan B. Justo Avenue, is one of the three priorities of his administration along with programs to increase safety in the city and reduce poverty.  Important decisions have been made to turn BRT into a reality in the second half of 2010.  The city in the process of creating, with the approval of the local Assembly, the Ministry of Transport and discussing with National government the creation of a Metropolitan Transport Agency.  ITDP is working with the city government on the BRT’s ticketing system, the operational and financial models as well as the institutional structure.
