Rio de Janeiro will celebrate International Car Free Day by prohibiting car parking in the city center and in municipal buildings, inaugurating a 30 km per hour zone in Copacabana, and raffling passes to its pilot public bicycle system. Along with local NGO partners and the municipal government, ITDP has been directly involved in the planning of this event, which promises to be Rio’s largest Car Free Day to date. O Rio de Janeiro vai celebrar o Dia Mundial Sem Carro com a proibição de estacionamento para carros no centro da cidade e nos prédios municipais, a inauguração de uma zona de tráfego de 30 km por hora em Copacabana, e o sorteio de passes para o sistema piloto de bicicletas públicas. Junto ao governo municipal e parceiros locais, o ITDP está diretamente envolvido no planejamento deste evento, que promete ser a maior adesão do Rio de Janeiro ao Dia Sem Carro até hoje.
