Jakarta is seeing a declining trend of traffic accidents occurring on Transjakarta busway lanes after the police agreed last year to help clear lanes of other vehicles, the police have said. Data from the Jakarta Police traffic center showed that while in 2009 there were 231 accidents on busways, with 49 deaths and 12 injured persons. In 2010, the figures dropped to 81 accidents, with eight deaths and 31 injured.
