JAKARTA: The City Administration has announced another plan to add more buses for the Transjakarta Bus Rapid Transit system to improve its service.

City Transportation Agency head Udar Pristono said that a total of 202 new articulated buses would be added to the Transjakarta fleet next year.

“We will have 66 new articulated buses for Corridor 1 connecting Blok M and Kota and Corridor 8 connecting Lebak Bulus and Harmoni, 76 regular buses for the Harmoni–Pulo Gadung route and the Kalideres–Harmoni route,” Pristono said.

A total of 60 other new buses would be used as a reserve for other routes.

Transjakarta already has a plan to deploy 44 new buses by the end of the year when the newest route, Corridor 11 connecting Pulo Gebang and Kampung Melayu in East Jakarta, is launched.

Transjakarta has a total of 524 buses plying 10 routes, and claims to serve more than seven million passengers every month
