More Trees were Cut and Relocated

As much as 1,172 trees along corridor XI TransJakarta bus must be relocated and cut down to smooth the corridor construction project. This amount increases compared to inventorying result which conducted in initial phase that was only 994 trees. Until now, the cutting and relocation processes are still continuously applied. Jakarta Park and Cemetery Department has prepared a number of substitute trees which will be planted in several green open spaces and other areas to replace the trees cut.

Sirajudin Abu Bakar as Head Section of Lane for East Jakarta Park Sub-Department explained that the trees cutting and relocation have been conducted since Friday (9/5) until Monday (10/3). At that period of time, his personnel managed to relocate 512 trees, although the initial plan was only 498 trees. Therefore, there are 14 additional trees relocated. All of the trees are now placed in Srengseng Garden Seeds, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta.
