Rp 8.5 Trillion for 8 Priority Programs

The 2012 Jakarta Local Budget Draft (RAPBD) reached Rp 36.02 trillion or increased 13.43 percent of 2011 Jakarta Amendment RAPBD which reached Rp 31.75 trillion. From the total, as much as 23.6 percent or about Rp 8.53 trillion is allocated for eight superior programs. Those eight superior programs are flood controlling, transportation construction, pollution handling, basic needs improvement, application of good governance rule, climate change anticipation, cultural diversity development, and disaster management.

Jakarta Governor Fauzi Bowo said that budget allocation in 2012 RAPBD is still focused on handling and controlling of flood in Jakarta as well as improvement and construction of public transport which is needed by Jakarta residents. “We have the budget to finance development of public transport because the society demands about better public transport in Jakarta,” he expressed after giving Jakarta Governor’s Speech about draft bylaw of 2012 Jakarta APBD in Plenary Meeting of Jakarta Parliament (DPRD) at Lemhanas Building, Friday (10/21).
