In order to prevent illegal parking and smooth traffic flows, 32 joint personnel are deployed on Jl. Basuki Rahmat, especially around Gembrong Market, Cipinangbesar Utara, Jatinegara, East Jakarta. The personnel are from East Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department, the army, and the police. They will be standby from 6.30 AM until 6 PM every day.

“Actually, parking prohibition signs have been installed in Gembrong Market area. The vehicle owners should have aware and not park their vehicles there because it causes congestion and disturbs other road users,” stated Head of East Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department, Mirza Soelarso, Thursday (12/8).

Stevanus (25), one of the motorists who passes the area every day, admitted happy with the presence of personnel guarding in Gembrong Market area. “If guarded like this every day, congestion will no longer occur on Jl. Basuki Rahmat until Jl. DI Panjaitan which caused by many vehicles parked on street especially in front of Gembrong Market,” he expressed.
