The Transjakarta BRT system will get more buses this year. Jakarta City Council on Wednesday (22/1) approved the City’s request to procure 3052 buses to be added to the Transjakarta BRT System. This is following an approval of Rp 3.9 Trillion (USD 356 million) budget allocated to procure 700 articulated 18-meter buses and 2352 medium-size 9 meter buses. The addition of more than 3000 buses is seen as an effort to improve the Transjakarta performance. Currently, out of 12 BRT corridors, 6 Transjakarta corridors have not yet achieved any BRT Standard Ratings issued by ITDP.
