Project Lead

Full-time Consultancy Contract Jakarta, Indonesia

ITDP Indonesia is seeking a Project Lead on a full-time consultancy contract based in Jakarta. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of sustainable and low-carbon transport in Indonesia. The Project Lead will be at the forefront of project implementation, working with government, private sector partners, and civil society organizations to deliver real-world change.

CONTRACT DURATION

18 months (October 2025 – March 2027)

PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Project Lead will support ITDP’s work on advancing sustainable and low-carbon urban transport in Indonesia, with a strong emphasis on electric vehicle adoption and electrification of urban transport. Areas of work include electric buses, microbuses, two- and three-wheelers, charging infrastructure, and the enabling policy that can accelerate Indonesia’s transition toward a cleaner and more inclusive urban transport system. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the design, planning, and day-to-day project implementation. 
  • Supervise and guide project team members. 
  • Develop detailed work plans and monitor implementation against project goals. 
  • Track project budgets and support financial oversight. 
  • Report progress and outcomes to the Urban Mobility Manager and the Southeast Asia Director. 
  • Coordinate and conduct report writing and ensure delivery of high-quality outputs in line with ITDP’s standards. 
  • Organize, coordinate, and conduct internal and external workshops, meetings, and dissemination events in coordination with the Communication Team 
  • Lead and conduct coordination and engagement with government institutions, private sector partners, and other stakeholders to support data collection, technical discussions, and project implementation. 
  • Lead and conduct field surveys to capture required data. 
  • Liaise coordination with the ITDP Global team, other ITDP regional offices, and the project donor. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 3 years of experience leading and conducting projects in sustainable urban transport, low-carbon transport, or related fields. 
  • Master’s Degree in Transport Planning, Transport Engineering, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Public Policy, or other relevant disciplines. 
  • Knowledge of sustainable urban mobility and Electric Mobility in Indonesia. 
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with proven ability to guide teams and engage multiple stakeholders. 
  • High integrity and passion for sustainable transport issues. 
  • Excellent analytical, writing, and research skills with attention to detail. 
  • Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English, both written and spoken, with proven skills in analysis, reporting, and presentation. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or equivalent software. 
  • Prior experience engaging with government, private sector, and civil society organizations. 
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to present technical content effectively to diverse audiences. 
  • Based in Jakarta and willing to travel as needed.
