Graphic Designer Associate

The Institute for Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP) promotes sustainable and equitable transport worldwide.  ITDP is a nonprofit organization headquartered in New York City with offices in China, India, Indonesia, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico City and the United States. ITDP’s programs focus on bus rapid transit, non-motorized travel, travel demand management, parking, transport policy and urban development.  More information about ITDP can be found at www.itdp.org. 

This position will support the ITDP Team implement transportation programs for ITDP within the country that the position is located in. 

The Graphic Designer Associate will report to the Sr. Communications & Partnership Manager. They will support a team in the ITDP Indonesia office in Jakarta and will be expected to collaborate with senior management, senior government officials and business leaders.   

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Supporting campaign, communication & publication Program for ITDP, such as:   

  • Working with technical staffs in Indonesia office on creating visual communication from engineering designs. 
  • Develop new ways of presenting ideas and engineering designs through graphics and visual aids.  
  • Helping organize ITDP Indonesia visual persona i.e. website design, social media campaign, company profile, brochures, etc.  
  • Create high-quality, visually compelling and clear presentations 
  • Design and edit reports and publications 
  • Selecting and improving pictures and drawing that will be used for presentation and publication by ITDP 
  • Working together and coordinating works with other experts in the organization 
  • Working together with communication team and other party that is support by ITDP to create campaign material  
  • Developing Work/Action programs to support the GOI and boost up the issue for public or media consumption  
  • Preparing measurement parameters to measure or evaluate the achievement of outsourced works/job 
  • Supervising, monitoring and evaluating the progress of work conducted by the outsourced parties. 
  • Building a good communication and coordination with ITDP stake holders (external) 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Fluent in Bahasa and English  
  • Degree in Visual Communication Design, Graphic Design, Urban Design, or other visual communication or urban design related area  
  • At least two years of work experience  
  • Excellent writing and communications skills  
  • Ability and desire to quickly learn new information 
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize  
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team ITDP  
  • Live in or will relocate to Jakarta  
  • Willingness to travel as needed 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL ALSO HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience developing and implementing communications or marketing campaigns.  
  • Experience giving presentations or pitches to high-level professional audiences.  
  • Experience working on sustainable transportation, international development, or environmental projects.  
  • Experience managing websites.  
  • Experience with photography and/or videography.  
  • Expert on Photoshop, Google Sketch Up, Adobe In Design, or another CAD programs.  
  • Proficient with word processor, spreadsheets and presentation.

  • Language proficiency in English, Indonesian a plus.
