Jakarta’s TUMI #eBusMission Series September Issue
As the COVID-19 pandemic recovers, we must choose an exemplary scenario for how our city will develop. ITDP and the University of California, Davis, released research results that resulted in 4 scenarios we can create for cities. However, there is only one scenario that can consistently limit global temperature rise to less than 1.5°C and avoid the worst effects of climate change, which is Compact City – Electrified.
An integrated and electrified city is a densely developed city, as well as a land use mix that focuses on public transportation, cycling, and walking. Then, all new motorized vehicles will be electrified by 2040. One of the focuses and priorities of electrification in this research is bus electrification.
Through the “Jakarta’s TUMI #eBusMission” series, which will be released regularly, you can see the progress of efforts and the latest news regarding bus electrification in Jakarta and Indonesia.
