Transjakarta BRT mitigates Climate Change

ITDP (Institute for Transportation and Development Policy) Indonesia together with the GEF (Global Environment Facility) and UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme) aim to support the Transjakarta BRT project because it mitigates climate change. It is now the longest and most extensive BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) system in the world (166.56 km length). People who shifted from their private motorized vehicles and conventional buses to Transjakarta buses have reduced GHG emission: 37,180 tons CO2 in 2010.
