Gonggomtua Sitanggang Serves As Southeast Asia Director of ITDP

Gonggomtua Sitanggang, who has served as ITDP Indonesia’s Interim Director since 2023, has officially been appointed as ITDP’s Southeast Asia Director. He succeeds Faela Sufa, who has taken on the role of Development Specialist (Transport) at the Transport Sector Office of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

With a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Gadjah Mada University (UGM) and a Master’s degree in Transportation Planning and Engineering from the University of Leeds, Gonggom brings over 8 years of experience from prominent transportation companies worldwide. During his tenure as Transport Manager in 2022 and as Interim Director in 2023 at ITDP Indonesia, Gonggom spearheaded programs aimed at promoting the utilization and integration of public transport, as well as sustainable transportation practices across Indonesia and the Southeast Asia region. 

His leadership as Interim Director over the past year has showcased his ambition and expertise, earning the trust of the team, fostering collaboration, and garnering increased support from government partners, donor agencies, and civil society organizations for crucial initiatives such as Low Emission Zones, electric bus adoption, and enhanced public transport accessibility.
