Allegedly remiss while crossing, Zaki (10), a student of 3th grade at Elementary School (SD) Muhammadiyah Tanjunglekong suffered injuries after hit by Transjakarta bus for corridor V (Kampungmelayu-Kampungrambutan) on Jl Otista Raya Bidaracina, Jatinegara on Monday (9/12). By resident, a boy who lived in Bidaracina RT 07/12 brought to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) to get treatment. Furthermore, Transjakata bus’ driver who known named Hendro Nababan (29) and also its fleet directly seized by officer of East Jakarta Accident Unit of Traffic.

Based on the information gathered, at that time the boy was crossing without using pedestrian bridge (JPO). While on the sidewalk of Transjakarta bus’ corridor, he had hurried and directly across without regard to the traffic flow condition around. In fact, Transjakarta bus with license number JMT 040 was speeding from Kampungmelayu towards Cawang at the same time. Suddenly, he was hit and had also bounced.

Traffic problems in Jakarta which getting complex demand for a more comprehensive handling, including in parking arrangement and management. Therefore, Jakarta Provincial Government revised the Bylaw No. 5/1999 about Parking and submitted it to the District Legislation Board (Balegda) of Jakarta Parliament (DPRD) for further studies. This parking bylaw draft consists of 21 chapters and 87 articles. In this bylaw, the city government will encourage more about off street parking implementation.

Jakarta Governor Fauzi Bowo said the parking setting and training in Jakarta are regulated through Bylaw No. 5/1999. However, as the city transportations are getting develop, the bylaw is felt no longer able to cope with growing parking problems nowadays. “Therefore, we revised the bylaw and adjusted its content with the development of city transportations to be able to parse congestion caused by on street parking,” he stated, Saturday (9/10).

JAKARTA – Perawatan armada bus Transjakarta koridor I (Blok M–Kota) yang sudah beroperasi selama tujuh tahun sangat minim.
Banyak kerusakan belum juga diperbaiki, seperti karpet lantai bus rusak, air conditioner (AC),karet pelapis pintu terlepas, mesin suara otomatis tak berfungsi,bahkan gantungan tangan untuk penumpang berdiri sudah tinggal sebagian saja.Tak jarang, armada yang masih menggunakan bahan bakar minyak (BBM) ini mogok di tengah jalan. Bahkan, halte-halte di sepanjang koridor pun luput dari perawatan.

Wakil Ketua DPRD DKI Jakarta Triwisaksana menilai selama ini peremajaan terhadap angkutan umum lamban, termasuk juga armada bus Transjakarta. Akibatnya, armada bus Transjakarta sering mengalami kerusakan. Hal ini diperparah dengan kualitas armada hasil pabrikan dalam negeri.
