Following the E-Bus Focus Group Discussion, ITDP and Transjakarta conducted an electric bus trial involving People With Disabilities from the previous FGD.
ITDP (Institute for Transportation Development Policy), in collaboration with UK PACT, assists the electrification process, including ensuring that the needs of every public transport user, especially the vulnerable group, can be accommodated appropriately. The group consists of women, the elderly, children, and various people with disabilities.
Following the E-Bus Focus Group Discussion, ITDP and Transjakarta conducted an electric bus trial involving People With Disabilities from the previous FGD. The trial bus was a Low Entry Single Bus Higer with 12 meters. Participants had the opportunity to try all features of the bus. Participants boarded the electric buses from the IRTI bus stop to the Blok M terminal and returned to IRTI. During the trip, participants observed and provided notes regarding the facilities in the fleet.
The participants then took part in a joint discussion held at the Sofyan Hotel, Gondangdia. In this session, participants responded regarding the findings they observed while in the fleet. The discussion process also took place in two directions between participants and representatives of Transjakarta who responded to questions that needed clarification.
The FGD and interviews show that the facilities available in the Transjakarta electric bus fleet still require changes and improvements in several aspects. ITDP has identified the various needs of Transjakarta customer groups by carrying out a participatory analysis process. The results of this identification can be helpful for Transjakarta to ensure that its services are services that can accommodate the needs of all customers (inclusive), especially regarding electric bus fleet facilities.
