ITDP Indonesia Welcomes Selangor Mobility Delegation to Exchange Insights on Sustainable Urban Mobility

On July 7, 2026, ITDP Indonesia welcomed the Selangor Mobility Delegation, an official delegation from the Government of Selangor, Malaysia, led by YB Tuan Ng Sze Han, Selangor State Executive Councillor (EXCO) for Investment, Trade, and Mobility. The strategic visit served as a prelude to the delegation’s participation in the Selangor International Business Summit ASEAN (SIBS@ASEAN) 2026 in Bandung and aimed to explore best practices in urban planning and sustainable public transport development.

The visit began with introductions from both organizations, followed by a presentation highlighting ITDP Indonesia’s portfolio and extensive experience in advancing sustainable urban transport transformation. The Selangor delegation expressed strong interest in learning from ITDP Indonesia’s work in supporting the development of integrated, people-centered mobility systems.

ITDP Indonesia shared historical and technical perspectives on the evolution of Jakarta’s public transport network, including the development of the Transjakarta Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system and the integration of the Mikrotrans feeder services. The discussion also covered Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) policies and ITDP’s approach to building and sustaining strong partnerships with local governments to translate policy into implementation. These insights provided valuable references for the Selangor delegation as they shape the future of integrated mobility in their region.

The visit concluded with a commemorative plaque exchange between YB Tuan Ng Sze Han and Gonggomtua Sitanggang, Southeast Asia Director of ITDP Indonesia. The exchange symbolized mutual appreciation and reflected both parties’ commitment to exploring future collaboration opportunities while strengthening professional ties among urban mobility stakeholders.

Through this engagement, ITDP Indonesia reaffirmed its commitment to fostering cross-border knowledge exchange and collaboration in support of more efficient, sustainable, and inclusive urban transportation systems across the region.
